Visual Inputs in V0

V0 Build Station - Safe References. You pass when you can use a screenshot or sketch as inspiration without leaking private data or copying someone else's brand.

Reference

Time: 10-15 min
Best for: improving layout direction without advanced app-building
You create: safe visual reference instruction
Checkpoint: reference is safe, explained, and not copied blindly

What this is

V0 can use visual inputs such as screenshots, simple sketches, files, and layout references. This can help V0 understand structure, rhythm, and visual direction.

In Vibe 101, visual inputs are optional. They support your Project Brief and Build Blueprint; they do not replace them.

Why it matters

Visual references can make the lane feel powerful, but they also create privacy and copying risks. You need to tell V0 how to use the reference safely.

What to do

Step 1: Choose safe visual input

What V0 can use:

  • screenshots;
  • simple sketches;
  • safe image references;
  • Figma links if available;
  • safe non-private files or assets.

Do not upload private client data, secret screens, IC/passport/banking information, paid assets you cannot use, or anything you would not want visible to a facilitator.

Step 2: Use the visual-reference prompt

Copy prompt
Use this screenshot only as layout inspiration.

Keep my Project Brief and Build Blueprint as the source of truth.
Do not copy the brand, logo, exact text, or private content.
Create a beginner-friendly version for my website with:
- similar section rhythm;
- clearer mobile layout;
- my own content and audience;
- no login, database, payment, dashboard, chatbot, live API, or backend.

Step 3: Review what changed

After V0 uses the reference, check:

Reference

[ ] It still matches my brief.
[ ] It does not copy private text or brand assets.
[ ] It works on mobile.
[ ] It did not add advanced features.

Common mistakes

  • Uploading a private screenshot because it is convenient.
  • Asking V0 to copy a brand exactly.
  • Letting the reference override your own audience and content.
  • Using visual inputs before the first simple website exists.
