Start Here — Easy Access

Station 1 — Mission lock. Time: 5 min. Pass when you can name one real task you want Hermes to help with today.

What this is

This is the beginner path for Hermes 101. Today you are not becoming a server admin. You are learning what a personal AI agent is, how it connects to models and tools, and what it can do for real work — all on your own laptop.

Why it matters

Most people only use AI as a chat box that disappears when they close the tab. Easy Access gives you a real first win with an agent you control, so the bigger ideas (keys, models, tools, safety) make sense before you touch a server.

Three things to remember today:

  • The office API key is temporary and for this class only.
  • Tools are selected by your facilitator — safe ones only.
  • Getting one useful output is the win, not a perfect setup.

Common mistakes

  • Picking a fake task instead of one real thing you actually need.
  • Trying to skip ahead to the VPS route on your first try.
  • Treating the class key like a normal link you can paste anywhere.
