What this is

The KDBM Lite starter is one reusable project folder. It works in VS Code, Antigravity, Cursor, or another coding workspace whose AI agent can read and write project files and run terminal commands.

Download kdbm-lite-starter.zip, unzip it, rename the folder for your project, and open the whole folder in your workspace.

Why it matters

Chat is temporary. Project files are durable.

The coach records the brief, architecture, design, blueprint, build status, and Work Cards inside the folder so another session or model can continue without rebuilding the context.

What to do

1. Download the KDBM Lite starter.
2. Unzip it and rename the folder to your project name.
3. Open the whole folder in your coding workspace.
4. Open the workspace’s AI coding agent and paste:

Read START_HERE.md and prompts/00-run-kdbm-lite-coach.md.

Run the KDBM Lite Coach exactly as instructed.
Planning phase only: do not create app code, install packages, or edit source files yet.

Start with the Setup Gate. Ask me one question at a time.

5. Keep the folder open and continue to the Setup Gate.

Common mistakes

• Opening only START_HERE.md instead of the whole folder.
• Letting the agent build before setup and planning are complete.
• Keeping the only copy of a decision inside chat.
• Pasting secrets, passwords, API keys, client data, or identity numbers into the coach.
