What a key unlocks, what a model costs

An API key is a temporary access card. Model tiers trade cost for capability — start budget, reach for premium only when the task needs it.

Budget

Practice, summaries, drafts, simple tasks

Cost usually depends on how much text goes in and comes out. Long prompts, long files, and long answers cost more.

Apa benda ni

Sebelum kamu paste apa-apa key, faham apa yang ia unlock, berapa ia boleh kos, dan macam mana nak lindunginya. Diagram di atas tunjuk lifecycle key dan tiga model tier.

API key macam kad akses sementara. Hermes guna ia untuk panggil AI model. Kalau orang lain dapat key kamu, mereka mungkin boleh spend credit atau guna servis bawah akaun itu. Layan ia macam password.

Kenapa penting

Key dan model adalah tempat duit dan risiko sebenar masuk. Key yang bocor boleh disalahguna. Pilihan model yang salah boleh jadi lambat, lemah, atau mahal. Faham kedua-duanya kekalkan kamu selamat dan dalam kawalan.

Apa nak buat

Ikut policy office key untuk hari ini:

  • Key itu sementara dan untuk workshop ini sahaja.
  • Jangan share, screenshot, atau paste ke public tools, GitHub, Discord, atau WhatsApp.
  • Kalau kamu tersilap dedah, beritahu facilitator serta-merta supaya boleh di-revoke.

Pilih model ikut tier, bukan ikut hype:

  • Budget — practice, ringkasan, draf, tugas simple.
  • Balanced — kerja harian, perancangan, research, guna tool.
  • Premium — reasoning atau coding berat sahaja. Overkill untuk practice.

Kos biasanya bergantung pada berapa banyak teks masuk dan keluar, jadi pastikan prompt fokus dan elak upload fail besar melainkan demo perlukannya.

Common mistakes

  • Reach untuk model premium untuk tugas yang model budget boleh handle.
  • Paste key ke chat "just to test it".
  • Upload dokumen panjang masa practice dan bakar credit.
